Access-route explanation

Understand how your organisation can access funding

Country eligibility alone does not establish the role your organisation can play. Confirm whether you can lead, join a consortium, host a researcher, participate through a partner or intermediary, or access a later procurement or downstream route.

01

Direct applicant

The Egyptian organisation submits and may sign the grant, investment or support agreement directly.

02

Consortium or funded partner

The organisation receives funding for a defined work package within a multinational or multi-organisation consortium.

03

Host or beneficiary

A researcher, fellow or programme participant is central while the organisation acts as host or beneficiary.

04

Foreign-led or partner route

Another eligible organisation leads while the Egyptian organisation acts as a funded, commercial or implementation partner.

05

Intermediary or downstream route

A bank, national authority, accredited entity, funder or programme operator applies or channels later support.

06

Buyer or supplier route

Public buyers or procurers receive the main grant and companies may later compete as suppliers.

07

Restricted or follow-on route

Only existing Stage 1 participants, prior-result holders or members of an existing action can proceed.

08

Prize or accelerator

Organisations apply directly to a prize, incubation or acceleration competition; cash and in-kind support vary.

About the opportunity landscape

The directory combines Horizon Europe intelligence with selected bilateral, multilateral, embassy, development-finance, Egypt-specific, accelerator and prize opportunities relevant to Egyptian organisations.

How opportunities are assessed

Each profile distinguishes the role an Egyptian organisation can actually play: direct applicant, consortium beneficiary, host, local partner, intermediary beneficiary, supplier, prize applicant or restricted follow-on participant.

Horizon Europe interpretation

Profiles may represent schemes, calls, umbrella calls or individual topics. Where a profile covers multiple topics, project tickets, action types, access rules and eligibility may vary.

Verification and forecasts

Exact dates are displayed where officially published. Dates marked EST. are planning estimates and are not funder commitments.

Funding terms, eligibility, country conditions, budgets and deadlines can change. Review the live official call documentation before committing proposal resources.
